Cervix Disorder

HPV infection can lead to a cervix disorder, dysplasia, a precursor to cervical cancer and a cone biopsy is used to confirm. Cervical disorders are fairly common and have a wide range of severity. Some of the disorders include cervicitis (an inflammation of the cervix), polyps (not cancer), genital warts, and dysplasia abnormal cells on the cervix that can turn into cancer if untreated and cervical cancer. Treatments for disorders depend on the type of problem. Minor surgery is used for treatment for genital warts, early stages of cancer and dysplasia. When found early, cervical disorders are easily treated with good results. Complete pelvic exams including a pap test are excellent preventative measures.
