Infections of cervix (ca) can be detected early and ASCUS treated if women participate in a regular Pap smear program. The term refers to the neck of the uterus. This organ, 1.5-2 inches in length, has a soft glistering mucosal surface. The cervical os (opening) is small and round in nulliparous women and has an oval shape after pregnancies.
