Cancer Of Uterine Cervix

Cancer of uterine cervix is caused by the same virus that causes a genital wart, namely HPV. The number one cause in 80% of cases of cervical carcinoma is the HPV virus. Endometrial carcinoma is cancerous cells of the uterus; unlike cervical carcinoma, its origin or cause is unknown. Endometrial carcinoma is the rapid growth of cells in the lining of the uterus. Cancer of uterine cervix is caused by the same virus that causes a genital wart, namely HPV.

Endometrial carcinoma is the fourth most common cancer of women in the United States. Cervical carcinoma is more prominent than endometrial. There were approximately 40,000 cases reported in 2002. Cervical carcinoma is definitely more treatable than endometrial carcinoma. Cancer of uterine cervix is caused by the same virus that causes a genital wart, namely HPV.
