Tight Cervix

Tight Cervix

A tight cervix can be present if also vulvar complications are present, in each case commonly, cryotherapy is used. If the patient has a history of infertility, the cervical canal can be dilated with progressively larger instruments or by placing laminaria (a small seaweed stem) for a day. During the ovulatory period the cervical changes make it hospitable to sperm transport. If you are having regular menses and they are not unusually painful, it is likely that the cervix is open enough. This condition usually occurs in women who have never had a pregnancy, and it is very difficult to make such a diagnosis through visual inspection alone. A tight cervix can be present if also vulvar complications are present, in each case commonly, cryotherapy is used.
