Cervix

The cervix is not afflicted with lichen sclerosis, but rather; the cervix is prone to abnormal cell changes. An abnormal pap may also reveal cervical dysplasia. The HPV virus causes 80% of cases of abnormal pap smears. If you have an abnormal pap smear, this is a good indication that you have HPV. To be tested for HPV, you must first have a pap exam. This is where cervical dyplasia occurs. The narrow outer end of the Uterus is the Cervical area.
