Cervical Incompetence

Cervical incompetence may result from cervical dysplasia procedures to treat HPV. Weakening of the cervix only happens in about 5% of women that have surgical procedures performed on their cervix and is more common with LEEP procedures and cone biopsies. Though not a common occurrence after a surgical procedure on the cervix, if it does occur it is a major problem. Cervical incompetence may result from cervical dysplasia procedures to treat HPV.

Cervical Incompetence

  -

Cervical Dysplasia, HPV

This ineptness of the cervix causes a woman to have a hard time carrying a pregnancy to term and many times a miscarriage occurs. The reason for this is because as the pregnancy advances the tissue of the cervix is too weak to keep the uterus opening closed. Cervical incompetence may result from cervical dysplasia procedures to treat HPV.
