Cancer, cervical especially can be treated early on by a LEEP procedure or cryotherapy. A condition caused in a small percentage of cases, by ASCUS or other abnormal cells of the cervix. The root of its cause is the human papilloma virus. Other references are carcinoma in situ or invasive carcinoma. There are over 30 types that are responsible for this condition. LEEP procedures, cryotherapy, and cone biopsies are traditional treatments for abnormal cells of the cervix. These procedures can be invasive, and may not be successful at elimination of abnormal cells. Always seek a second opinion when faced with a serious condition, especially one that could affect future pregnancies.
