Loop Biopsy

Loop Biopsy

Loop biopsy accompanied with colposcopy carries less risk of vulvar disease than cryosurgery. "LLETZ" or "LEEP" is the procedure for removing abnormal areas of the cervix. It can treat and diagnose cervical dysplasia, often replacing cone biopsy. This procedure may be done during the initial colposcopy exam, because the problem is treated and diagnosed. Loop biopsy accompanied with colposcopy carries less risk of vulvar disease than cryosurgery.
