Stage 1 Cervical Cancer

A stage 1 cervical cancer can be treated successfully only if detected early; any abnormality on the vulvar area and cervix can develop into cancer. Risk factors are: multiple sexual partners, early engagement in sexual life, infection with HPV and intercourses with infected partners, smoking, weak immune system, exposure to DES and others. The precancerous changes may progress into malignancies in any woman who is sexually active. A stage 1 cervical cancer can be treated successfully only if detected early; any abnormality on the vulvar area and cervix can develop into cancer.

This disorder is more frequent in women over 40. This condition usually develops very slowly over years, so it is easy to detect the problem on the earliest and the most easy to cure stage provided if a women is regularly checked by Pap smear tests.
