The diagnosis of moderate cervical dysplasia is usually caused by the HPV condyloma viruses that are linked to miscarriage. The abnormal cells still may go away on their own at this stage, even if no procedures are performed. Cryotherapy can still be used at this stage for treatment, but many doctors prefer the LEEP procedure or cone biopsy. The Human Papilloma virus brings about these dysplastic cells.
