Leep Pad

Leep Pad

With a leep pad it is possibel to remove abnormal tissues from the cervix to avoid complications, such as miscarriage. The patient should not have sexual intercourse, use tampons, douche and lift heavy objects for several weeks. Possible complications include mild pain, itching and light bleeding. This procedure is usually performed in a physician’s office and takes about 20-30 minutes until the lesions are removed. The loop electrosurgical excision procedure is performed after a Pap smear test and colposcopy have shown presence of the abnormal cells in the cervix.
