Leap Surgery

A leap surgery is performed only after a pap smear test shows abnormalities; cone biopsy is an alternative to LEEP. Itís better not to have sexual intercourse and not to use tampons for several weeks. The procedure is performed under local anesthesia and may cause light discomfort and pain; light itching and bleeding are possible for several days after the operation. Pap Smear, Cone Biopsy

It involves a loop of wire heated by an electric current. It is used to treat abnormal changes, such as cervical dysplasia, HGSIL and some others. The loop electrosurgical excision procedure is also called LLETZ (large loop excision of the transformation zone). A leap surgery is performed only after a pap smear test shows abnormalities; cone biopsy is an alternative to LEEP.
