Human papillovirus causes various types of verruca, cervical dysplasia, genital warts and other disorders. The vaccine against this virus is being studied and won’t be available for several years. In a small number of women, the virus may live for years and convert cells of the cervix into abnormal that become precancerous and may progress into invasive cervical cancer. In most women, the immune system is strong enough to fight the virus before it does harm. HPV is considered to be the main cause of cervical and some other kinds of cancer. Various strains of HPV are responsible for at least 95 percent of cervical cancer. Human papillovirus causes various types of verruca, cervical dysplasia, genital warts and other disorders.
