Dysplasia Treatment

There are several dysplasia treatment procedures for removing abnormal tissue, but surgical procedures on the cervix causing scar tissue is linked to infertility as is the genital wart viruses. These methods have varying success and reoccurrence rates. The LEEP procedure and cone biopsy are more invasive procedures, causing scarring, and are used in only moderate or severe cases. Cryotherapy and laser treatments are less invasive than the LEEP procedure or cone biopsy. Cryotherapy is used mostly in mild cases and laser surgery used in mild or moderate cases. These are also the traditional approaches to treating the abnormal cells on the cervix. The most commonly used metods are: cryotherapy, cryosurgery, laser vaporization or ablation, LEEP procedure, or cone biopsy.
