Colposcopy Pictures

With colposcopy pictures the patient is ready for the procedure; vaginosis, lichen sclerosis, cervical dysplasia and other disorders can be detected during this procedure. The procedure is relatively simple and takes about 15-20 minutes. Abnormal tissues are seen as white and no light passes through them. To visualize the surface of the cervix a large electronic microscope with a bright light is used. With colposcopy pictures the patient is ready for the procedure; vaginosis, lichen sclerosis, cervical dysplasia and other disorders can be detected during this procedure.

Vaginosis, Lichen Sclerosis

It may be cervical dysplasia, HPV, ASCUS or other minor problems. It is usually performed after a Pap smear test has shown abnormalities. In this procedure a colposcope is used to visualize the surface of the cervix and determine the cause and location of the abnormalities.
