Colposcopy Examination

With a colposcopy examination it is possible to detect verruca, genital wart and other disorders of the cervix. It is performed in a physician’s office with a help of a colposcope – a large electric microscope with a light on the end of it. The procedure is rather simple and takes about 15-20 minutes. Abnormalities may be caused by HPV, dysplasia, infections, cancer and other causes. With a colposcopy examination it is possible to detect verruca, genital wart and other disorders of the cervix.

Verruca, Genital Wart

After a Pap smear test has shown abnormal tissues in the cervix, it is important to take a closer look at the problem area to determine the cause of the abnormal results, because a Pap test is only a screening test, not the diagnostic tool. With a colposcopy examination it is possible to detect verruca, genital wart and other disorders of the cervix.
