Colcoscopy

A colcoscopy exam allows making a proper diagnosis of even minor disorders, such as ASCUS, vaginitis and mild dysplasia. The most common form of treatment is called LLETZ in the British Isles, and LEEP elsewhere. Women who have an obvious abnormality or who have a positive biopsy result will proceed to treatment. ASCUS, Vaginitis

A solution of acetic acid is wiped on the cervix and abnormal dyskaryotic/dysplastic cells will stain white. After a repeated Pap smear test it is necessary to examine the cervix of the patient with a special binocular microscope a colposcope. A colcoscopy exam allows making a proper diagnosis of even minor disorders, such as ASCUS, vaginitis and mild dysplasia.
