Cervical Dysplasia Causes

There are several cervical dysplasia causes, the most prevelant of which is the high-risk strains of the HPV venereal wart virus, which is treatable with cryosurgery. Another risk factors may be cigarette smoking, because tobacco chemicals cause alteration in the cell; perinatal DES exposure; poor nutrition, because lack of vitamins decreases the body's ability to fight viruses; oral contraceptives, however it's not clear if the risk connected with the contracptives, or the lack of barrier method. There are several cervical dysplasia causes, the most prevelant of which is the high-risk strains of the HPV venereal wart virus, which is treatable with cryosurgery.

Risk factors are: multiple sexual partners without using a barrier contraceptive, early onset of sexual activity, history of sexually transmitted diseases, especcialy HIV infection. This disease is often caused by Human papillomavirus and may lead to cancer of the cervix, if left untreated.
