Agcus

AGCUS is often caused by human papilloma virus and can sometimes lead even to lichen sclerosus if not monitored properly. The immune system of a healthy woman is able to fight off the virus without special treatment. Often, this disorder is associated with Human papillomavirus and is sexually transmitted. This condition is very rare and occurs in 0.7% of all cervical smears. AGCUS is often caused by human papilloma virus and can sometimes lead even to lichen sclerosus if not monitored properly.

Human Papilloma Virus, Lichen Sclerosus

You should be screened further by colposcopy and biopsy. This diagnosis doesn’t necessarily mean that you have cervical or other cancers. Atypical Glandular Cells of Undetermined Significance may arise from the endocervix (glandular portion of the cervix) or the endometrium (uterine lining tissue).
