Dysplasia Of The Cervix

Dysplasia of the cervix and lichen sclerosus are very similar and generally require cone biopsy for differentiation. It is the presence of abnormal cells in the cervical canal, which often causes the development of abnormal tissues. This condition is associated with Human papilloma virus; it is asymptomatic and doesn't cause health problems, but advanced stages can be precancerous. It takes several years for cervical cancer to develop, so it can be detected easily. The only way to prevent cervical cancer is to have Pap smears regularly. Most cases of the disorder regress on their own, especialy in young women. To prevent this condition avoid having multiple sexual partners.
