Stage 2 Cervical Cancer

Stage 2 cervical cancer means that it has begun to spread to surrounding tissues that may lead to vaginitis (inflammation) or vaginosis (disease). This condition is determined by information that is obtained through many methods, such as biopsy and the pathology reports, cystoscopy, abdominal ultrasound, computer tomography, and magnetic resonance imaging. These methods determine the tumorís size, depth of penetration, and spread within or beyond the cervix. The lower the staging, the better the chances to treat the disorder. Stage 2 cervical cancer means that it has begun to spread to surrounding tissues that may lead to vaginitis (inflammation) or vaginosis (disease).

Stage 2 Cervical Cancer

  -

Vaginitis, Vaginosis

According to the FIGO system, malignant tumors are classified into four basic periods, labeled 0 through 4. In CIN II the tumor extends beyond the cervix and/or upper part of the vagina, but not onto the pelvic wall. The prognosis is comparatively well. Stage 2 cervical cancer means that it has begun to spread to surrounding tissues that may lead to vaginitis (inflammation) or vaginosis (disease).
