Screen For Cervical Cancer

A common screen for cervical cancer, the Pap smear, detects early HPV infections. The common testing procedure for HPV infection is an annual pap exam. The only problem is; if you donít have abnormal cells, often times labs will not perform a Digene Hybrid Capture HPV DNA test. This test determines whether you carry high or low risk strains of the virus. A common screen for cervical cancer, the Pap smear, detects early HPV infections.

Pap Smear, HPV

There is limited testing for men. Some urologists can perform a penile urethral swab if no symptoms of HPV are present, and a biopsy if any warts are present. STD testing in men unfortunately doesnít include testing for the HPV virus. A common screen for cervical cancer, the Pap smear, detects early HPV infections.
