History of risk factors for cervical cancer and accompanied symptoms such as vaginitis or vaginosis may alert a physician for more stringent case management. Women over 35, women who had multiple sexual partners or a history of HPV or genital warts, women taking oral contraceptives are more sucseptible to developing atypical tissues. Pelvic examinations, including PAP smear should be taken regularly. Dysplasia caused by HPV can lead to development of abnormal tissues. These abnormalities are completely curable on early stages. To reduce the chances of getting the disease women should take the following measures: avoid sexual activity before 18 years old, avoid promiscuous partners or use condoms, and discontinue any tobacco use.
