HPV And Cervical Cancer

Infections by hpv and cervical cancer are linked, thus, a LEEP procedure for vaginal dysplasia may result. In many women, infection with certain types of Human papilloma virus is the first step in the progression from a normal cervix to cervical cancer. This sexually transmitted disease is the main cause of cervical cancer. It induces the growth of abnormal cells that can become malignant. LEEP Procedure, Vaginal Dysplasia

Women who smoke, have multiple partners and early beginning of their sexual life are more susceptible to developing this dangerous condition. Without treatment severely dysplastic cells penetrate deeper layers of the cervix and spread to other organs, causing invasive cervical cancer. It usually takes many years for cancer of the cervix to develop, but without routine exams, the disorder may pass unnoticed. Infections by hpv and cervical cancer are linked, thus, a LEEP procedure for vaginal dysplasia may result.
