Cervical Cancer Stage 3

Cervical cancer stage 3 means that it has extended beyond the pelvic wall which may require additional pelvic radiation in addition to colposcopy and cryosurgery procedures. The lower the staging, the better the personís prognosis. Atypical cells and malignant tissues are determined by information obtained through the following tests: biopsy and the pathology reports, cystoscopy, abdominal ultrasound, computer tomography, and magnetic resonance imaging. They determine the tumorís size, depth of penetration, and spread within or beyond the cervix. Cervical cancer stage 3 means that it has extended beyond the pelvic wall which may require additional pelvic radiation in addition to colposcopy and cryosurgery procedures.

  -

Colposcopy, Cryosurgery

Development of malignant tumors is classified into four basic periods, labeled 0 through 4. In advanced periods the tumor spreads to the lower third of the vagina or onto the pelvic wall and may be blocking the flow of urine from the kidneys to the bladder. This condition requires immediate surgery. Cervical cancer stage 3 means that it has extended beyond the pelvic wall which may require additional pelvic radiation in addition to colposcopy and cryosurgery procedures.
