Cervical Cancer Causes

Only known of cervical cancer causes is HPV, for which progression can be intervened if detected early via Pap smear. Infections of various types lead to dysplasia, which can result in development of abnormal tissues. Precancers are completely curable when followed up properly. Women over 35, women who had multiple sexual partners or a history of HPV or genital warts, women taking oral contraceptives are at risk. Smoking is also a risk fcator. Only known of cervical cancer causes is HPV, for which progression can be intervened if detected early via Pap smear.

To reduce the chances of getting the disease women should take the following measures: avoid sexual activity before 18 years old, avoid promiscuous partners or use condoms, and discontinue any tobacco use. Pelvic examinations, including PAP smear should be taken regularly to detect possible disorders on early and treatable stages.
