Prevention Of Cervical Cancer

Prevention of cervical cancer is done by getting annual pap exams, which if an ASCUS reading is discovered, would not yet be cervical cancer. If there are warts on the partnerís genitals, the intercourse should be avoided, because of the possibility of HPV. Women should also reduce the chances of getting the disease: avoid sexual activity before 18 years, use condoms, and avoid sexually promiscuous partners.
