Diagnosis On Cervical Cancer

A diagnosis on cervical cancer can be determined if a genital wart is present or if infertility is a factor. It will determine if women are carrying high-risk strains of HPV even if their Paps have been normal. This is considered preventative medicine. To prevent the cells from ever getting to the cancerous stage, the FDA has approved automatic HPV DNA testing of women 30 years or older. It is then tested for its origin through HPV DNA testing. A colposcopy and biopsy of the tissue in question is taken. After initial abnormal cells are found, further testing must be done. Identifying the nature and cause of cancerous cells of the cervix is acquired through a Pap smear.
