Cervical Cancer Vaccination

A cervical cancer vaccination is on the horizon, and will be used to prevent vulvar problems, and possibly prevent infertility issues. This will be difficult in the more conservative Western markets such as the US. However, the barrier to the uptake of such a vaccine is likely to be a lack of social acceptance for immunizing young girls of 12 or 13, the ideal vaccination population, against a venereal disease. A cervical cancer vaccination is on the horizon, and will be used to prevent vulvar problems, and possibly prevent infertility issues.

Within the next decade the hpv vaccine is said to become available. With promising interim results for vaccines that work against this infection, prevention of the disease has become a real possibility. The majority of all malignancies in the cervix are caused by human papillomavirus. A cervical cancer vaccination is on the horizon, and will be used to prevent vulvar problems, and possibly prevent infertility issues.
