Cervical Cancer During Pregnancy

Cervical cancer during pregnancy, or having lichen sclerosus could be a cause of infertility. HPV positive mothers may receive a C-Section at the time of delivery to prevent HPV transmission. After exposure, infants will usually clear the virus over the several months after birth. Transmission of HPV at the time of delivery is common; however, it rare to see serious affects in the infants. Cervical cancer during pregnancy, or having lichen sclerosus could be a cause of infertility.

Other circumstances in which HPV symptoms may appear are: when under prolonged stress, menopause, or if the woman is a smoker. A majority of women develop dysplastic cells when they become expectant mothers, because the immune system is slightly weakened during this time.
