Aside from the problems of cervical dysplasia and genital warts, there are few other common problems caused by HPV.
Some studies suggest that over 60% of our population have HPV antibodies, suggesting prior or existing HPV infection in over half of the US population. However, less than 10% of Pap smears show abnormalities thus suggesting the probability of immunity developing in most persons exposed to HPV.
